Andras Hotels awarded Green Tourism certification
06/09/2022 | NewsThe Green Tourism programme recognises the commitment of tourism businesses that are actively working to become more sustainable, with awards in bronze, silver or gold certification.
Visit Belfast and Belfast City Council have been working in partnership with Green Tourism to promote the industry-recognised scheme across the city, to promote Belfast as a leader in sustainable tourism and help to support tourism businesses achieve sustainable growth.
Vicky Green, Associate Director of Andras House said: “Sustainability is part of our company culture and it is a priority for our guests as they seek to reduce their environmental footprint. Our general managers have embraced the opportunity to work alongside Green Tourism and Visit Belfast to achieve this major accolade.”
The Andras Hotels portfolio includes the Crowne Plaza at Shaws Bridge Belfast, Holiday Inn Belfast City Centre, Hampton by Hilton Belfast City and two Ibis Hotels in the city. The inclusion of the 1,000 bedrooms of Andras Hotels to the Green Tourism programme means that half of Belfast’s hotel bedrooms are now accredited.

Green Tourism has provided guidance to Andras Hotels on reducing energy use, saving water, efficient & eco-friendly waste disposal, ethical buying, staying local & seasonal, minimising food miles, promoting biodiversity and adopting a smart, sustainable outlook from top to bottom.
